Welcome to salmon & sea trout fishing at ”Homstad/Mælen” – Mælen
Gård.
As our guest we can offer you 2,1 km of the famous salmon river
Namsen. Namsen is one of Norway’s best salmon and sea trout
rivers. “Homstad/Mælen” is a typical boat-beat, with additional
fishing opportunities on the river bank. The season goes from
June 1 to August 31. Spoons and wobblers are the most used
lures, specially in June and July, fly-fishing is popular in the
second half of the season.
“Homstad/Mælen”, wich is the name of our part of the river, is
located at Mælen Farm. Mælen Farm is on the north side of the
river, – 3 km south-east from Skage. Skage is 15 km from Namsos
and 9 km from Overhalla at Country Road 17.
“Homstad/Mælen” has totally 4 zones in wich you rotate your
fishing. Day 1 you fish at zone 1 and 2, Day 2 you fish at zone
3 and 4, Day 3 you fish at zone 1 and 2, Day 4 ……..
Our cabin, ”Bakerstu”, is located at the farm, near the river.
You will find the place very nice and peaceful. The cabin
contains 8 beds, fully equipped kitchen & living room, toilet,
TV, Stereo and radio, shower.
We have 3 riverboats of very good quality, motor on all boats.
You can however only use the motors when you are finish fishing
and are going upstream.
As our guest you will always get good information before you
start fishing.
